Booba Starr's 'Neva Easy' tops UK reggae chart

Greater Portmore-based reggae artiste Booba Starr has earned what any new artiste has always craved: a number-one song! His latest single, 'Neva Easy', is number one on Galaxy Radio Reggae Chart in the UK.

The singjay is very upbeat about the latest turn of events in his blooming career.

"It's a great feeling to know that fans from outside of Jamaica are loving and embracing the work of Booba Starr. I really appreciate the support," he said in a media release.

The artiste has been quite busy on the promotional trail, making appearances at various local media to promote the single. The accompanying video is in rotation on CVM Plus, Hype TV, and RE TV.

Boobar Starr recently appeared on CVM at Sunrise. He is also doing the rounds on radio, having done interviews on Hitz 92 FM, Suncity Radio, and Newstalk Radio.

Born Dane Salmon, he grew up in Kingston before relocating to Greater Portmore. He began writing poems and songs in school, where he would entertain his fellow schoolmates.

Shortly after leaving high school, Booba Starr's interest in music took on a more serious tone as he began to hone his skills and talent by performing with the Hard Drive sound system. it was this experience that gave him the confidence and the awakening that he wanted to entertain people through music.

With his immense talent and versatility, Booba Starr covers a wide range of styles across the reggae spectrum, ranging from today's contemporary reggae to the old school classics of the '80s and '90s. Whether dancehall, roots, or culture, Booba Starr easily transitions from one to the other without skipping a beat.

He made his recording debut in 2010 with the Jafrika Records-produced single Things Change.

Inspired by The Most High and life experiences, Booba Starr has matured as an individual and a musician.
